ce82f8d220 l2tp: fix racy SOCK_ZAPPED flag check in l2tp_ip{,6}_bind()
Lock socket before checking the SOCK_ZAPPED flag in l2tp_ip6_bind().
Without lock, a concurrent call could modify the socket flags between
the sock_flag(sk, SOCK_ZAPPED) test and the lock_sock() call. This way,
a socket could be inserted twice in l2tp_ip6_bind_table. Releasing it
would then leave a stale pointer there, generating use-after-free
errors when walking through the list or modifying adjacent entries.

4290973d9a l2tp: fix race while getting PMTU on PPP pseudo-wire
commit eed4d839b0 upstream.

Use dst_entry held by sk_dst_get() to retrieve tunnel's PMTU.

The dst_mtu(__sk_dst_get(tunnel->sock)) call was racy. __sk_dst_get()
could return NULL if tunnel->sock->sk_dst_cache was reset just before the
call, thus making dst_mtu() dereference a NULL pointer:

56a2a6f68b net/l2tp: don't fall back on UDP [get|set]sockopt
commit 3cf521f7dc upstream.

The l2tp [get|set]sockopt() code has fallen back to the UDP functions
for socket option levels != SOL_PPPOL2TP since day one, but that has
never actually worked, since the l2tp socket isn't an inet socket.

As David Miller points out:

  "If we wanted this to work, it'd have to look up the tunnel and then
   use tunnel->sk, but I wonder how useful that would be"

Since this can never have worked so nobody could possibly have depended
on that functionality, just remove the broken code and return -EINVAL.

f32abfaa76 l2tp: take PMTU from tunnel UDP socket
[ Upstream commit f34c4a35d8 ]

When l2tp driver tries to get PMTU for the tunnel destination, it uses
the pointer to struct sock that represents PPPoX socket, while it
should use the pointer that represents UDP socket of the tunnel.

18719a4c7a net: rework recvmsg handler msg_name and msg_namelen logic
[ Upstream commit f3d3342602 ]

This patch now always passes msg->msg_namelen as 0. recvmsg handlers must
set msg_namelen to the proper size <= sizeof(struct sockaddr_storage)
to return msg_name to the user.

This prevents numerous uninitialized memory leaks we had in the
recvmsg handlers and makes it harder for new code to accidentally leak
uninitialized memory.

Optimize for the case recvfrom is called with NULL as address. We don't
need to copy the address at all, so set it to NULL before invoking the
recvmsg handler. We can do so, because all the recvmsg handlers must
cope with the case a plain read() is called on them. read() also sets
msg_name to NULL.

Also document these changes in include/linux/net.h as suggested by David
Miller.

Changes since RFC:

Set msg->msg_name = NULL if user specified a NULL in msg_name but had a
non-null msg_namelen in verify_iovec/verify_compat_iovec. This doesn't
affect sendto as it would bail out earlier while trying to copy-in the
address. It also more naturally reflects the logic by the callers of
verify_iovec.

With this change in place I could remove "
if (!uaddr || msg_sys->msg_namelen == 0)
	msg->msg_name = NULL
".

This change does not alter the user visible error logic as we ignore
msg_namelen as long as msg_name is NULL.

Also remove two unnecessary curly brackets in ___sys_recvmsg and change
comments to netdev style.

11afb94fbe inet: prevent leakage of uninitialized memory to user in recv syscalls
[ Upstream commit bceaa90240 ]

Only update *addr_len when we actually fill in sockaddr, otherwise we
can return uninitialized memory from the stack to the caller in the
recvfrom, recvmmsg and recvmsg syscalls. Drop the the (addr_len == NULL)
checks because we only get called with a valid addr_len pointer either
from sock_common_recvmsg or inet_recvmsg.

If a blocking read waits on a socket which is concurrently shut down we
now return zero and set msg_msgnamelen to 0.

120bc4f854 l2tp: must disable bh before calling l2tp_xmit_skb()
[ Upstream commit 455cc32bf1 ]

François Cachereul made a very nice bug report and suspected
the bh_lock_sock() / bh_unlok_sock() pair used in l2tp_xmit_skb() from
process context was not good.

This problem was added by commit 6af88da14e
("l2tp: Fix locking in l2tp_core.c").

l2tp_eth_dev_xmit() runs from BH context, so we must disable BH
from other l2tp_xmit_skb() users.

136d76de5b l2tp: Restore socket refcount when sendmsg succeeds
[ Upstream commit 8b82547e33 ]

The sendmsg() syscall handler for PPPoL2TP doesn't decrease the socket
reference counter after successful transmissions. Any successful
sendmsg() call from userspace will then increase the reference counter
forever, thus preventing the kernel's session and tunnel data from
being freed later on.

The problem only happens when writing directly on L2TP sockets.
PPP sockets attached to L2TP are unaffected as the PPP subsystem
uses pppol2tp_xmit() which symmetrically increase/decrease reference
counters.

This patch adds the missing call to sock_put() before returning from
pppol2tp_sendmsg().

988aaa6d34 l2tp: fix oops in l2tp_eth_create() error path
[ Upstream commit 789336360e ]

When creating an L2TPv3 Ethernet session, if register_netdev() should fail for
any reason (for example, automatic naming for "l2tpeth%d" interfaces hits the
32k-interface limit), the netdev is freed in the error path. However, the
l2tp_eth_sess structure's dev pointer is left uncleared, and this results in
l2tp_eth_delete() then attempting to unregister the same netdev later in the
session teardown. This results in an oops.

To avoid this, clear the session dev pointer in the error path.

ea1ae37f4a l2tp: fix oops in L2TP IP sockets for connect() AF_UNSPEC case
[ Upstream commit c51ce49735 ]

An application may call connect() to disconnect a socket using an
address with family AF_UNSPEC. The L2TP IP sockets were not handling
this case when the socket is not bound and an attempt to connect()
using AF_UNSPEC in such cases would result in an oops. This patch
addresses the problem by protecting the sk_prot->disconnect() call
against trying to unhash the socket before it is bound.

The patch also adds more checks that the sockaddr supplied to bind()
and connect() calls is valid.

68315801db l2tp: l2tp_ip - fix possible oops on packet receive
When a packet is received on an L2TP IP socket (L2TPv3 IP link
encapsulation), the l2tpip socket's backlog_rcv function calls
xfrm4_policy_check(). This is not necessary, since it was called
before the skb was added to the backlog. With CONFIG_NET_NS enabled,
xfrm4_policy_check() will oops if skb->dev is null, so this trivial
patch removes the call.

This bug has always been present, but only when CONFIG_NET_NS is
enabled does it cause problems. Most users are probably using UDP
encapsulation for L2TP, hence the problem has only recently
surfaced.

1769192a3c l2tp: fix potential rcu race
While trying to remove useless synchronize_rcu() calls, I found l2tp is
indeed incorrectly using two of such calls, but also bumps tunnel
refcount after list insertion.

tunnel refcount must be incremented before being made publically visible
by rcu readers.

This fix can be applied to 2.6.35+ and might need a backport for older
kernels, since things were shuffled in commit fd558d186d
(l2tp: Split pppol2tp patch into separate l2tp and ppp parts)

d9d8da805d inet: Pass flowi to ->queue_xmit().
This allows us to acquire the exact route keying information from the
protocol, however that might be managed.

It handles all of the possibilities, from the simplest case of storing
the key in inet->cork.fl to the more complex setup SCTP has where
individual transports determine the flow.

6af88da14e l2tp: Fix locking in l2tp_core.c
l2tp_xmit_skb() must take the socket lock. It makes use of ip_queue_xmit()
which expects to execute in a socket atomic context.

Since we execute this function in software interrupts, we cannot use the
usual lock_sock()/release_sock() sequence, instead we have to use
bh_lock_sock() and see if a user has the socket locked, and if so drop
the packet.

2f16270f41 l2tp: Fix locking in l2tp_ip.c
Both l2tp_ip_connect() and l2tp_ip_sendmsg() must take the socket
lock. They both modify socket state non-atomically, and in particular
l2tp_ip_sendmsg() increments socket private counters without using
atomic operations.

778865a550 l2tp: Fix inet_opt conversion.
We don't actually hold the socket lock at this point, so the
rcu_dereference_protected() isn't' correct. Thanks to Eric
Dumazet for pointing this out.

Thankfully, we're only interested in fetching the faddr value
if srr is enabled, so we can simply make this an RCU sequence
and use plain rcu_dereference().

f6d8bd051c inet: add RCU protection to inet->opt
We lack proper synchronization to manipulate inet->opt ip_options

Problem is ip_make_skb() calls ip_setup_cork() and
ip_setup_cork() possibly makes a copy of ipc->opt (struct ip_options),
without any protection against another thread manipulating inet->opt.

Another thread can change inet->opt pointer and free old one under us.

Use RCU to protect inet->opt (changed to inet->inet_opt).

Instead of handling atomic refcounts, just copy ip_options when
necessary, to avoid cache line dirtying.

We cant insert an rcu_head in struct ip_options since its included in
skb->cb[], so this patch is large because I had to introduce a new
ip_options_rcu structure.
