The num_planes field in struct v4l2_pix_format_mplane is used in a loop
before validating it. As the use is printing a debug message in this case,
just cap the value to the maximum allowed.

Control events can leak kernel memory since they do not fully zero the
event. The same code is present in both v4l2-ctrls.c and uvc_ctrl.c, so
fix both.
It appears that all other event code is properly zeroing the structure,
it's these two places.

Patch ad608fbcf166 changed how events were subscribed to address an issue
elsewhere. As a side effect of that change, the "add" callback was called
before the event subscription was added to the list of subscribed events,
causing the first event queued by the add callback (and possibly other
events arriving soon afterwards) to be lost.
Fix this by adding the subscription to the list before calling the "add"
callback, and clean up afterwards if that fails.

The event subscriptions are added to the subscribed event list while
holding a spinlock, but that lock is subsequently released while still
accessing the subscription object. This makes it possible to unsubscribe
the event --- and freeing the subscription object's memory --- while
the subscription object is simultaneously accessed.
Prevent this by adding a mutex to serialise the event subscription and
unsubscription. This also gives a guarantee to the callback ops that the
add op has returned before the del op is called.
This change also results in making the elems field less special:
subscriptions are only added to the event list once they are fully
initialised.

The 32-bit compat v4l2 ioctl handling is implemented based on its 64-bit
equivalent. It converts 32-bit data structures into its 64-bit
equivalents and needs to provide the data to the 64-bit ioctl in user
space memory which is commonly allocated using
compat_alloc_user_space().
However, due to how that function is implemented, it can only be called
a single time for every syscall invocation.
Supposedly to avoid this limitation, the existing code uses a mix of
memory from the kernel stack and memory allocated through
compat_alloc_user_space().
Under normal circumstances, this would not work, because the 64-bit
ioctl expects all pointers to point to user space memory. As a
workaround, set_fs(KERNEL_DS) is called to temporarily disable this
extra safety check and allow kernel pointers. However, this might
introduce a security vulnerability: The result of the 32-bit to 64-bit
conversion is writeable by user space because the output buffer has been
allocated via compat_alloc_user_space(). A malicious user space process
could then manipulate pointers inside this output buffer, and due to the
previous set_fs(KERNEL_DS) call, functions like get_user() or put_user()
no longer prevent kernel memory access.
The new approach is to pre-calculate the total amount of user space
memory that is needed, allocate it using compat_alloc_user_space() and
then divide up the allocated memory to accommodate all data structures
that need to be converted.
An alternative approach would have been to retain the union type karg
that they allocated on the kernel stack in do_video_ioctl(), copy all
data from user space into karg and then back to user space. However, we
decided against this approach because it does not align with other
compat syscall implementations. Instead, we tried to replicate the
get_user/put_user pairs as found in other places in the kernel:

also swapped the order of the convert_in_user arguments so that they
matched copy_in_user. It was hard to review otherwise. I also replaced
the ALLOC_USER_SPACE/ALLOC_AND_GET by a normal function.

Certain syscalls like recvmmsg support 64 bit timespec values for the
X32 ABI. The helper function compat_put_timespec converts a timespec
value to a 32 bit or 64 bit value depending on what ABI is used. The
v4l2 compat layer, however, is not designed to support 64 bit timespec
values and always uses 32 bit values. Hence, compat_put_timespec must
not be used.
Without this patch, user space will be provided with bad timestamp
values from the VIDIOC_DQEVENT ioctl. Also, fields of the struct
v4l2_event32 that come immediately after timestamp get overwritten,
namely the field named id.

There is nothing wrong with using an unknown buffer type. So
stop spamming the kernel log whenever this happens. The kernel

ctrl_is_pointer just hardcoded two known string controls, but that
caused problems when using e.g. custom controls that use a pointer
for the payload.
Reimplement this function: it now finds the v4l2_ctrl (if the driver
uses the control framework) or it calls vidioc_query_ext_ctrl (if the
driver implements that directly).
In both cases it can now check if the control is a pointer control
or not.

Instead of doing sizeof(struct foo) use sizeof(*up). There even were
cases where 4 * sizeof(__u32) was used instead of sizeof(kp->reserved),
which is very dangerous when the size of the reserved array changes.

According to the doc, V4L2_BUF_FLAG_DONE is cleared after DQBUF:
V4L2_BUF_FLAG_DONE 0x00000004 ... After calling the VIDIOC_QBUF or
VIDIOC_DQBUF it is always cleared ...
Unfortunately, it seems that videobuf2 keeps it set after DQBUF. This
can be tested with vivid and dev_debug:

Similar to an earlier patch, fixing reading user-space data for the
VIDIOC_CREATE_BUFS ioctl() in 32-bit compatibility mode, this patch fixes
writing back of the possibly modified struct to the user. However, unlike
the former bug, this one is much less harmful, because it only results in
the kernel failing to write the .type field back to the user, but in fact
this is likely unneeded, because the kernel will hardly want to change
that field. Therefore this bug is more of a theoretical nature.

A lot of these warnings are caused by the fact that we don't generally use
__user in videodev2.h. Normally the video_usercopy function will copy anything
pointed to by pointers into kernel space, so having __user in the struct will only
cause lots of warnings in the drivers. But the flip side of that is that you
need to add __force casts here.

In videobuf2 dma-contig memory type the prepare and finish ops, instead of
passing the number of entries in the original scatterlist as the "nents"
parameter to dma_sync_sg_for_device() and dma_sync_sg_for_cpu(), the value
returned by dma_map_sg() was used. Albeit this has been suggested in
comments of some implementations (which have since been corrected), this
is wrong.

Alignment/padding rules on AMD64 and ARM64 differs. To allow properly match
compatible ioctls on ARM64 kernels without breaking AMD64 some fields
should be aligned using compat_s64 type and in one case struct should be
unpacked.

Fix clamp_align() used in v4l_bound_align_image() to prevent overflow
when passed large value like UINT32_MAX.
In the current implementation:
clamp_align(UINT32_MAX, 8, 8192, 3)
returns 8, because in line:
x = (x + (1 << (align - 1))) & mask;
x overflows to (-1 + 4) & 0x7 = 3, while expected value is 8192.
v4l_bound_align_image() is heavily used in VIDIOC_S_FMT and
VIDIOC_SUBDEV_S_FMT ioctls handlers, and documentation of the latter
explicitly states that:
"The modified format should be as close as possible to the original
request."

Thus one would expect, that passing UINT32_MAX as format width and
height will result in setting maximum possible resolution for the
device. Particularly, when the driver doesn't support
VIDIOC_ENUM_FRAMESIZES ioctl, which is common in the codebase.

The recent conversion of saa7134 to vb2 unconvered a poll() bug that
broke the teletext applications alevt and mtt. These applications
expect that calling poll() without having called VIDIOC_STREAMON will
cause poll() to return POLLERR. That did not happen in vb2.
This patch fixes that behavior. It also fixes what should happen when
poll() is called when STREAMON is called but no buffers have been
queued. In that case poll() will also return POLLERR, but only for
capture queues since output queues will always return POLLOUT
anyway in that situation.
This brings the vb2 behavior in line with the old videobuf behavior.

In addition to bringing in upstream commits, this merge also makes minor
changes to mainitain compatibility with upstream:
The definition of list_next_entry in qcrypto.c and ipa_dp.c has been
removed, as upstream has moved the definition to list.h. The implementation
of list_next_entry was identical between the two.
irq.c, for both arm and arm64 architecture, has had its calls to
__irq_set_affinity_locked updated to reflect changes to the API upstream.
Finally, as we have removed the sleep_length member variable of the
tick_sched struct, all changes made by upstream commit ec804bd do not
apply to our tree and have been removed from this merge. Only
kernel/time/tick-sched.c is impacted.

Clients calculate the level and tier values according to the
HEVC spec and send to the driver. Driver packs the level and
tier information according to the HW interface.

If a struct contains 64-bit fields, it is aligned on 64-bit boundaries
within containing structs in 64-bit compilations. This is the case with
struct v4l2_window, which contains pointers and is embedded into struct
v4l2_format, and that one is embedded into struct v4l2_create_buffers.
Unlike some other structs, used as a part of the kernel ABI as ioctl()
arguments, that are packed, these structs aren't packed. This isn't a
problem per se, but the ioctl-compat code for VIDIOC_CREATE_BUFS contains
a bug, that triggers in such 64-bit builds. That code wrongly assumes,
that in struct v4l2_create_buffers, struct v4l2_format immediately follows
the __u32 memory field, which in fact isn't the case. This bug wasn't
visible until now, because until recently hardly any applications used
this ioctl() and mostly embedded 32-bit only drivers implemented it. This
is changing now with addition of this ioctl() to some USB drivers, e.g.
UVC. This patch fixes the bug by copying parts of struct
v4l2_create_buffers separately.

Queue should be reinitialized on each REQBUFS() call even if the memory
access method and buffer count have not been changed. The user might have
changed the format and if we go the short path introduced in that commit,
the memory buffer will not be reallocated to fit with new format.
The previous patch was just over-engineered optimization, which just
introduced a bug to videobuf2.

If vb2_qbuf is called within the context of a kthread with no "user
memory map", current->mm will be NULL causing a fault when attempt to
lock the non-existent pages.
As such, perform a cursory check for a non-NULL current->mm before
locking the userspace pages.

Reverting commit 705d2156b85febeb47509e9d955052790b9025e0 because using
mm_active seems too unreliable. When current is a kthread, there's no
guarantee that there will not be a context switch between down_read and
up_read, which causes a panic due to mismatched up/down_reads.
