commit 49e67dd17649b60b4d54966e18ec9c80198227f0 upstream.
The memory allocator passed to __unflatten_device_tree() (e.g. a wrapped
kzalloc) can fail so add the missing sanity check to avoid dereferencing
a NULL pointer.

commit 3a496b00b6f90c41bd21a410871dfc97d4f3c7ab upstream.
If the internal call to of_address_to_resource() fails, we end up
looping forever in of_find_matching_node_by_address(). This can be
caused by a defective device tree, or calling with an incorrect
matches argument.
Fix by calling of_find_matching_node() unconditionally at the end of
the loop.

This commit adds the necessary definitions for the PHY layer to
recognize "qsgmii" as a valid PHY interface. A QSMII interface, as
defined at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Independent_Interface#Quad_Serial_Gigabit_Media_Independent_Interface,
is "is a method of combining four SGMII lines into a 5Gbit/s
interface. QSGMII, like SGMII, uses LVDS signalling for the TX and RX
data and a single LVDS clock signal. QSGMII uses significantly fewer
signal lines than four SGMII busses."
This type of MAC <-> PHY connection might require special handling on
the MAC driver side, so it should be possible to express this type of
MAC <-> PHY connection, for example in the Device Tree.

Merge commit 'v3.10.67' into msm-3.10
This merge brings us up to date with upstream kernel.org tag v3.10.67.
It also contains changes to allow forbidden warnings introduced in
the commit 'core, nfqueue, openvswitch: Orphan frags in skb_zerocopy
and handle errors'. Once upstream has corrected these warnings, the
changes to scripts/gcc-wrapper.py, in this commit, can be reverted.

commit 746c9e9f92dde2789908e51a354ba90a1962a2eb upstream.
We have a historical hack that treats missing ranges properties as the
equivalent of an empty one. This is needed for ancient PowerMac "bad"
device-trees, and shouldn't be enabled for any other PowerPC platform,
otherwise we get some nasty layout of devices in sysfs or even
duplication when a set of otherwise identically named devices is
created multiple times under a different parent node with no ranges
property.
This fix is needed for the PowerNV i2c busses to be exposed properly
and will fix a number of other embedded cases.

Currently, the best battery profile is selected only based on the
profile which has the lowest delta from the battery id. For
example, if there are two profiles and if the second one has
lowest delta with the battery id, it would get selected as best
profile. However, the selection may not go through as that
profile can be outside the range. First profile whose battery id
delta is greater than the second profile but still in the valid
range will not be selected because the second profile was given
the precedence.
Fix this problem by validating whether the battery id of the
profile is within range and update the best profile based on
that.

commit a87fa1d81a9fb5e9adca9820e16008c40ad09f33 upstream.
The string property read helpers will run off the end of the buffer if
it is handed a malformed string property. Rework the parsers to make
sure that doesn't happen. At the same time add new test cases to make
sure the functions behave themselves.
The original implementations of of_property_read_string_index() and
of_property_count_strings() both open-coded the same block of parsing
code, each with it's own subtly different bugs. The fix here merges
functions into a single helper and makes the original functions static
inline wrappers around the helper.
One non-bugfix aspect of this patch is the addition of a new wrapper,
of_property_read_string_array(). The new wrapper is needed by the
device_properties feature that Rafael is working on and planning to
merge for v3.19. The implementation is identical both with and without
the new static inline wrapper, so it just got left in to reduce the
churn on the header file.

Several architectures using DT support built-in dtb's in the init
section. These platforms need to copy the dtb from init since the
strings are referenced after unflattening. Every arch has their own
copying routine which do the same thing. Create a common function,
unflatten_and_copy_device_tree, to copy the dtb when unflattening the
dtb.

The kernel FDT functions predate libfdt and are much more limited in
functionality. Also, the kernel functions and libfdt functions are
not compatible with each other because they have different definitions
of node offsets. To avoid this incompatibility and in preparation to
add more FDT parsing functions which will need libfdt, let's first
convert the existing code to use libfdt.
The FDT unflattening, top-level FDT scanning, and property retrieval
functions are converted to use libfdt. The scanning code should be
re-worked to be more efficient and understandable by using libfdt to
find nodes directly by path or compatible strings.

The flat tree unflatting path is using unsigned longs to carry around
virtual address pointers to the device tree and the allocated memory
used to unpack it. This is a little insane since every access to them
needs to be cast to a pointer type before using it. This patch changes
the data type to void* for the 'start' and 'mem' pointers and reworks
the unflattening functions to use those values directly which results in
slightly simpler code.

This patch adds support for static (defined by 'reg' property) reserved
memory regions declared in device tree.
Memory blocks can be reliably reserved only during early boot. This must
happen before the whole memory management subsystem is initialized,
because we need to ensure that the given contiguous blocks are not yet
allocated by kernel. Also it must happen before kernel mappings for the
whole low memory are created, to ensure that there will be no mappings
(for reserved blocks). Typically, all this happens before device tree
structures are unflattened, so we need to get reserved memory layout
directly from fdt.

The optional qcom,batt-id-range-pct property will
be used to determine a valid range for a given qcom,batt-id-kohm.
This option puts a boundary on the closest match found by
of_batterydata_get_best_profile.
The advantage of this is to prevent loading battery profiles
based on battery ID resistance values which are too far off from
qcom,batt-id-kohm and thus leading to undesirable configuration
for battery related properties.

strlcat takes the size of the buffer, not the number of characters
to concatenate. If the size of the device tree command line p is
larger than the CONFIG_CMDLINE string data, then strcat(data, p, l)
will hit a BUG_ON because strlen(data) > l.
Replace the second strlcat with a strncpy plus a manual null
termination.
Also rearrange the code to reduce indent depth to make it more
readable, and replace data with a char *cmdline to avoid extra
casts.

commit 14e2abb732e485ee57d9d5b2cb8884652238e5c1 upstream.
On IBM pseries systems the device_type device-tree property of a PCIe
bridge contains the string "pciex". The of_bus_pci_match() function was
looking only for "pci" on this property, so in such cases the bus
matching code was falling back to the default bus, causing problems on
functions that should be using "assigned-addresses" for region address
translation. This patch fixes the problem by also looking for "pciex" on
the PCI bus match function.

This patch moves the generalized implementation of of_get_cpu_node from
PowerPC to DT core library, thereby adding support for retrieving cpu
node for a given logical cpu index on any architecture.
The CPU subsystem can now use this function to assign of_node in the
cpu device while registering CPUs.
It is recommended to use these helper function only in pre-SMP/early
initialisation stages to retrieve CPU device node pointers in logical
ordering. Once the cpu devices are registered, it can be retrieved easily
from cpu device of_node which avoids unnecessary parsing and matching.

Introduce common of_flat_dt_match_machine and
of_flat_dt_get_machine_name functions to unify architectures' handling
of machine level model and compatible properties.
Several architectures match the root compatible string with an arch
specific list of machine descriptors duplicating the same search
algorithm. Create a common implementation with a simple architecture
specific hook to iterate over each machine's match table.

Most architectures scan the all the same items early in the FDT and none
are really architecture specific. Create a common early_init_dt_scan to
unify the early scan of root, memory, and chosen nodes in the flattened

On some PAE architectures, the entire range of physical memory could reside
outside the 32-bit limit. These systems need the ability to specify the
initrd location using 64-bit numbers.
This patch globally modifies the early_init_dt_setup_initrd_arch() function to
use 64-bit numbers instead of the current unsigned long.
There has been quite a bit of debate about whether to use u64 or phys_addr_t.
It was concluded to stick to u64 to be consistent with rest of the device
tree code. As summarized by Geert, "The address to load the initrd is decided
by the bootloader/user and set at that point later in time. The dtb should not
be tied to the kernel you are booting"

Thierry Reding confirmed this commit was not needed after all:
"We ended up merging a different address representation for Tegra PCIe
and I've confirmed that reverting this commit doesn't cause any obvious
regressions. I think all other drivers in drivers/pci/host ended up
copying what we did on Tegra, so I wouldn't expect any other breakage
either."
There doesn't appear to be a simple way to support both behaviours, so
reverting this as nothing should be depending on the new behaviour.
