Signed-off-by: Kaushal Kumar <kaushalk@codeaurora.org>
Currently, Kernel QMI encode/decode library returns an error upon
receiving an unknown optional TLV. Any optional TLV in a received
QMI message can be ignored and the rest of the message can be decoded.
Add support to ignore the unknown optional TLV and decode rest of
the message.
Change-Id: I8bb509879422c9193c00ed4ef847b0da1d642e33
Signed-off-by: Atish Kumar Patra <apatra@codeaurora.org>
The string length variable in string encode/decode function is not
initialized to zero. It may result in decoding failure in case it is
initialized to some garbage value from stack.
Initialize the variables to zero to avoid decoding failure.
Change-Id: I77c8dca296f1070f7bd7e6b79c7dc898c3fc23b4
Signed-off-by: Atish Kumar Patra <apatra@codeaurora.org>
Add support to encode and decode string data type into a QMI message.
If a string has a <Type>:<Length>:<Value> information associated with it,
then the length information holds the length of the string. If the string
is part of a nested structure, then the length of the string is explicitly
encoded into the QMI message.
Change-Id: If488d25eaf6d97cd9422848e7bfdfd17cdb68fa0
Signed-off-by: Karthikeyan Ramasubramanian <kramasub@codeaurora.org>
If a variable length element has type associated with it and if the length
is specified as zero, encode the element's type and length information in
the QMI message.
Change-Id: Ic4dfe56d0199f5bd622fdd8e18e0d29169cd5bb0
Signed-off-by: Karthikeyan Ramasubramanian <kramasub@codeaurora.org>
While decoding a subset of QMI message that maps to an array of nested
structures, the decodable length is equally split across each structure
instance in that array. This is not correct when the nested structure holds
a variable length element.
1) Use the entire decodable length for each structure instance.
2) Update the decodable length after decoding for each structure instance.
3) Check the decoded length does not overrun the decodable length after
decoding for each structure instance.
Change-Id: I58aad07010fe6961379f3f04a3cebf3f1c4a1bf8
Signed-off-by: Karthikeyan Ramasubramanian <kramasub@codeaurora.org>
If an element is an array of structure and if that element has type and
length information present in the message's QMI wire format, then subtract
the wire size of the array length from the length information while
decoding that element.
Change-Id: If460820b42894dd8611e67780aef5bd1722b3ef9
Signed-off-by: Karthikeyan Ramasubramanian <kramasub@codeaurora.org>
Maximum message length calculation is incorrect under array of structures
scenario.
Multiply the size of each structure with the maximum array length while
calculating the maximum message length.

Signed-off-by: Karthikeyan Ramasubramanian <kramasub@codeaurora.org>
While encoding nested structures, space is reserved redundantly in QMI
message wire format for storing type and length information. Avoid the
redundant reservation of space.
Change-Id: I00164375501056cc4a3b807af3e7eee638ba758c
Signed-off-by: Karthikeyan Ramasubramanian <kramasub@codeaurora.org>
As per QMI message wire format, type and length information is added
only for elements in the main/outer structure. For elements within a
nested structure, there is no type and length information.
The kernel encode/decode library skips decoding multi-level
nested structures because of the missing length information.
Calculate the maximum message length of such structures through
their element information and complete the decode operation.
Change-Id: I92ed84d7da888ea6360950c288b7b6df7a79f53b
Signed-off-by: Karthikeyan Ramasubramanian <kramasub@codeaurora.org>
skip_to_next_elem operates based on tlv_type and all elements in
nested structures have the same tlv_type. If the length of a variable
length array element in a nested structure is zero, then this operation
skips the entire nested structure instead of moving to the next element
in the nested structure.
Fix the skip_to_next_elem operation for nested structure by moving to
next element.

Signed-off-by: Karthikeyan Ramasubramanian <kramasub@codeaurora.org>
Currently when the clients try to send zero length QMI requests, QMI
encode/decode library returns an invalid error code.
Update the encode/decode library to check if a minimum message length
of a QMI message can be zero and enable sending such zero length QMI
messages.
Change-Id: Ifa0241107b67cc316d7ef4ba8e45bca21feb87da
Signed-off-by: Karthikeyan Ramasubramanian <kramasub@codeaurora.org>
The new API is added to verify the maximum length of a QMI message
embedded inside the message descriptor matches the expected maximum
length of the concerned QMI message. The expected maximum length of
the QMI message is calculated using the message descriptor which
describes all the elements in the structure.
Change-Id: I09602df410d9891d60f1502245ad055653f8f0f7
Signed-off-by: Karthikeyan Ramasubramanian <kramasub@codeaurora.org>
If QMI clients pass an invalid maximum message length parameter, the
QMI message encode operation may perform an out of bound encode buffer
access.
Add a check in the QMI message encode operation to avoid out of bound
buffer access.

Introduce Encode/Decode Library to perform QMI message marshaling.
