commit 7de7ac785ae18a2cdc78d7560f48e3213d9ea0ab upstream.
There are XCHAL_NUM_DBREAK registers, clear them all.
This also fixes cryptic assembler error message with binutils 2.25 when
XCHAL_NUM_DBREAK is 0:
as: out of memory allocating 18446744073709551575 bytes after a total
of 495616 bytes

commit 77d6273e79e3a86552fcf10cdd31a69b46ed2ce6 upstream.
call12 can't be safely used as the first call in the inline function,
because the compiler does not extend the stack frame of the bounding
function accordingly, which may result in corruption of local variables.
If a call needs to be done, do call8 first followed by call12.
For pure assembly code in _switch_to increase stack frame size of the
bounding function.

commit 4229fb12a03e5da5882b420b0aa4a02e77447b86 upstream.
Userspace return code may skip restoring THREADPTR register if there are
no registers that need to be zeroed. This leads to spurious failures in
libc NPTL tests.
Always restore THREADPTR on return to userspace.

Merge commit 'v3.10.67' into msm-3.10
This merge brings us up to date with upstream kernel.org tag v3.10.67.
It also contains changes to allow forbidden warnings introduced in
the commit 'core, nfqueue, openvswitch: Orphan frags in skb_zerocopy
and handle errors'. Once upstream has corrected these warnings, the
changes to scripts/gcc-wrapper.py, in this commit, can be reverted.

commit 7128039fe2dd3d59da9e4ffa036f3aaa3ba87b9f upstream.
Current definition of TLBTEMP_BASE_2 is always 32K above the
TLBTEMP_BASE_1, whereas fast_second_level_miss handler for the TLBTEMP
region analyzes virtual address bit (PAGE_SHIFT + DCACHE_ALIAS_ORDER)
to determine TLBTEMP region where the fault happened. The size of the
TLBTEMP region is also checked incorrectly: not 64K, but twice data
cache way size (whicht may as well be less than the instruction cache
way size).
Fix TLBTEMP_BASE_2 to be TLBTEMP_BASE_1 + data cache way size.
Provide TLBTEMP_SIZE that is a greater of doubled data cache way size or
the instruction cache way size, and use it to determine if the second
level TLB miss occured in the TLBTEMP region.
Practical occurence of page faults in the TLBTEMP area is extremely
rare, this code can be tested by deletion of all w[di]tlb instructions
in the tlbtemp_mapping region.

commit e2fd1374c705abe4661df3fb6fadb3879c7c1846 upstream.
Most in-kernel users want registers spilled on the kernel stack and
don't require PS.EXCM to be set. That means that they don't need fixup
routine and could reuse regular window overflow mechanism for that,
which makes spill routine very simple.

On some PAE architectures, the entire range of physical memory could reside
outside the 32-bit limit. These systems need the ability to specify the
initrd location using 64-bit numbers.
This patch globally modifies the early_init_dt_setup_initrd_arch() function to
use 64-bit numbers instead of the current unsigned long.
There has been quite a bit of debate about whether to use u64 or phys_addr_t.
It was concluded to stick to u64 to be consistent with rest of the device
tree code. As summarized by Geert, "The address to load the initrd is decided
by the bootloader/user and set at that point later in time. The dtb should not
be tied to the kernel you are booting"

commit cba9a90053e3b7973eff4f1946f33032e98eeed5 upstream.
According to create_thread(3): "The new thread does not inherit the creating
thread's alternate signal stack". Since commit f9a3879a (Fix sigaltstack
corruption among cloned threads), current->sas_ss_size is set to 0 for cloned
processes sharing VM with their parent. Don't use the (nonexistent) alternate
signal stack in this case. This has been broken since commit 29c4dfd9 ([XTENSA]
Remove non-rt signal handling).

Definition of CALLER_ADDR* through __builtin_return_address makes
compiler insert calls to __xtensa_libgcc_window_spill, which in turn
makes fast_syscall_spill_registers syscall that clobbers registers when
called from the kernel mode, leading to invalid opcode exceptions on
return to userspace.

case CONFIG_FRAME_POINTER is enabled extract CALLER_ADDR{1-3} from

show_regs() is inherently arch-dependent but it does make sense to print
generic debug information and some archs already do albeit in slightly
different forms. This patch introduces a generic function to print debug
information from show_regs() so that different archs print out the same
information and it's much easier to modify what's printed.
show_regs_print_info() prints out the same debug info as dump_stack()
does plus task and thread_info pointers.
* Archs which didn't print debug info now do.
alpha, arc, blackfin, c6x, cris, frv, h8300, hexagon, ia64, m32r,
metag, microblaze, mn10300, openrisc, parisc, score, sh64, sparc,
um, xtensa
* Already prints debug info. Replaced with show_regs_print_info().
The printed information is superset of what used to be there.
arm, arm64, avr32, mips, powerpc, sh32, tile, unicore32, x86
* s390 is special in that it used to print arch-specific information
along with generic debug info. Heiko and Martin think that the
arch-specific extra isn't worth keeping s390 specfic implementation.
Converted to use the generic version.
Note that now all archs print the debug info before actual register
dumps.
An example BUG() dump follows.

Both dump_stack() and show_stack() are currently implemented by each
architecture. show_stack(NULL, NULL) dumps the backtrace for the
current task as does dump_stack(). On some archs, dump_stack() prints
extra information - pid, utsname and so on - in addition to the
backtrace while the two are identical on other archs.
The usages in arch-independent code of the two functions indicate
show_stack(NULL, NULL) should print out bare backtrace while
dump_stack() is used for debugging purposes when something went wrong,
so it does make sense to print additional information on the task which
triggered dump_stack().
There's no reason to require archs to implement two separate but mostly
identical functions. It leads to unnecessary subtle information.
This patch expands the dummy fallback dump_stack() implementation in
lib/dump_stack.c such that it prints out debug information (taken from
x86) and invokes show_stack(NULL, NULL) and drops arch-specific
dump_stack() implementations in all archs except blackfin. Blackfin's
dump_stack() does something wonky that I don't understand.
Debug information can be printed separately by calling
dump_stack_print_info() so that arch-specific dump_stack()
implementation can still emit the same debug information. This is used
in blackfin.
This patch brings the following behavior changes.
* On some archs, an extra level in backtrace for show_stack() could be
printed. This is because the top frame was determined in
dump_stack() on those archs while generic dump_stack() can't do that
reliably. It can be compensated by inlining dump_stack() but not
sure whether that'd be necessary.
* Most archs didn't use to print debug info on dump_stack(). They do
now.
An example WARN dump follows.

v2: CPU number added to the generic debug info as requested by s390
folks and dropped the s390 specific dump_stack(). This loses %ksp
from the debug message which the maintainers think isn't important
enough to keep the s390-specific dump_stack() implementation.
dump_stack_print_info() is moved to kernel/printk.c from
lib/dump_stack.c. Because linkage is per objecct file,
dump_stack_print_info() living in the same lib file as generic
dump_stack() means that archs which implement custom dump_stack()
- at this point, only blackfin - can't use dump_stack_print_info()
as that will bring in the generic version of dump_stack() too. v1
The v1 patch broke build on blackfin due to this issue. The build
breakage was reported by Fengguang Wu.

The Xtensa architecture provides a global register called THREADPTR
for the purpose of Thread Local Storage (TLS) support. This allows us
to use a fairly simple implementation, keeping the thread pointer in
the regset and simply saving and restoring it upon entering/exiting
the from user space.

Device trees allow specification of hardware topology and device
parameters at runtime instead of hard-coding them in platform setup
code. This allows running single binary kernel on a range of compatible
boards.
New boot parameters tag BP_TAG_FDT is allocated and a pointer to flat
device tree is passed in it.
Note that current interrupt mapping scheme uses single cell for
interrupt identification. That means that IRQ numbers used in DTS must
be CPU internal IRQ numbers, not external. It is possible to extend
interrupt identification to two cells, and use second cell to tell
external IRQ numbers form internal. That would allow to use single DTS
on multiple boards with different mapping of external IRQ numbers.

Add a brief sanity test of S32C1I functionality. This instruction
is needed by the kernel and userland as part of the base ABI
(including GCC atomic builtins, certain threading packages, future
atomic support in the C++ standard, etc). However, correct operation
of this instruction requires some cooperation by hardware external to
the processor (such as bus bridge, bus fabric, or memory controller).
Minimally exercising this mechanism and reporting explicit status
early in the boot process is helpful to chip vendors using the Linux
kernel as a benchmark of correctness of hardware.
As it turns out, S32C1I is not exercised by the kernel and by uClibc
based userland as of early June 2008. This is expected to change
soon as both incorporate more recent open source developments.
